We talked to holistic health and life coach and founder of TBalance Crystals, Tori Boughey. Her handmade healing bracelets are worn by the likes of Bella Hadid and Kylie Jenner. Sleep is her number one priority and with the help of calming crystals and a neutral bedroom she gets her eight hours…
How important is sleep to your personal daily life?
It is the most important! Sleep is everything to me, I must admit I can be a bit of a monster if I don’t get enough. I’ve never had much trouble getting to sleep, so a restless night really affects me.
How do you switch off after a working day?
I love my post work ritual. I usually head out for a walk in my local park - being around greenery in the fresh air is incredibly soothing for me. When I’m home I’ll take a relaxing bath and make dinner. Cooking has always been an activity that helps me to unwind. My favourite thing to make at the moment is miso cod with a warm kale salad. Finally, I’ll curl up with my journal before bed - taking just ten minutes to practice gratitude every day has been something I really look forward to and is the perfect way to unwind after a busy day.
What does a typical sleep routine look like to you?
With sleep being so important to me I usually get into bed to relax before going to sleep at around 9.30/10pm and I tend to be asleep by around 10.30pm. I’m an eight hours a night kind of girl!
What is your bedroom like?
In the past few years I loved sleeping in a pink bedroom, It is so peaceful and soothing. However, when we moved, the beautiful pink wallpaper didn’t move with us - much to my fiancé’s delight, I’m sure! Now our bedroom is neutral with air purifying plants, a lot of selenite (a crystal that is wonderful for peaceful sleep) and candles are always burning.

What is your sleep position?
I love sleeping on my back.
Do you follow any self-care rituals to help you sleep better?
I like to take ashwagandha (which helps to reduce anxiety and stress), have a relaxing lavender salt bath and listen to Harry Potter to take my mind off anything lingering from my day. I also love to sleep with an eye mask to keep it really dark.
What are your top “sleep well” tips?
Keep crystals in your bedroom! I love selenite and amethyst to create a soothing and relaxing atmosphere in my bedroom. Your bedroom is a sacred space so keeping the energy peaceful is super important for a good night’s sleep. I also love using a lavender and chamomile spray on my pillow before bed - my favourite one is from Healing Orchids. The smell is divine and always makes me feel calm and sleepy.
Have you read any good bedtime books lately?
I have to say, my reading isn’t very highbrow - I like something easy going that I can switch off to. My most recent favourite was Dolly Alderton’s new novel, Ghosts.
