Why wear Loungewear? Sadie Reid, Founder of Luxe & Hardy explains her need for luxury rest wear
“Loungewear” has always been a huge part of my life. When I was younger, I loved getting home from school and taking off the itchy and stiff uniform in order to replace it with tracksuit bottoms and one of my brothers t shirts. I loved how just doing this simple act of putting on something different and far more comfortable instantly changed my mood and helped me get rid of the stresses of the day. I became physically and mentally more relaxed. This ritual continued throughout my life. But it was at university when I started putting effort into what I wore to wind down in. Mainly because of the boys that hung around our house on Sunday evenings when we weren’t going out but also I wanted to feel comfortable and stylish enough that I felt confident too.
Loungewear, or rest wear as I prefer to call it, is what I’d like to live in most of the time. It means “this moment is mine”; it means “it’s time to relax and let go of the day”; but most of all it means; “I am willing to invest in rest so that I can be my best”.
